Abstract

This book is divided into four periods: 1775 to the beginning of the Civil War, the Civil War to 1900, 1900 to 1941, and World War II to the mid-1980s. Where K12 and higher education intersect, these connections are developed and explained. The book's epilogue also explains the reforms brought about through the Kentucky Education Reform Act and the changes that occurred in higher education from the Patton years to the near present.
