This chapter describes Ingram’s trip to North Africa with Alice Terry, Ramón Novarro, and the publicist Herbert Howe to make The Arab (1924). This is placed against the background of Egyptomania following the discovery of the tomb of Tutankhamun and as part of Ingram’s increasing Orientalism.
