This chapter examines the beginning of the decline of Hal Ashby as a film director. Ashby decided to grant an interview to Dale Pollock of the Los Angeles Times to give Lookin' to Get Out a push. While Pollock's article gave such intriguing insights into Ashby's views, it was ultimately sensationalist and the Pollock portrayal of Ashby was one of a director in decline. This chapter also examines Ashby's directorial job for Neil Young's concert film Solo Trans.
