This chapter continues Ann’s wartime experience following the Battle of St. Nazaire, in which Leslie Fenton was severely wounded. After giving up her post in the Mechanised Transport Corps to be near the hospital where Fenton was recovering, she signed up for the Women’s Land Army, raising crops for navy families. Once Fenton recovered, the couple returned to London; he directed films for the Ministry of Information while Ann acted in three movies. Dvorak spent her remaining months in Europe traveling through England and Ireland performing in camp shows with Bebe Daniels, and acting in a Red Cross production.
