Claude’s most exciting basketball season was probably 1957–1958 as Adolph Rupp’s “Fiddlin’ Five” won a surprising NCAA Championship. Claude continued to travel internationally, stumbling into a coup in Lebanon and visiting Brussels, where the 1958 World’s Fair was held. He considered taking a position in the United States Information Agency, doing political propaganda radio for the US government.
