In Chapter 10, Walters continues to stage musical sequences for several M-G-M films. He collaborates with director Rouben Mamoulian for the film Summer Holiday and the Broadway show St. Louis Woman. The development of the burgeoning director-choreographer is explored. Walters directs his first full-length feature film, Good News (1947), from a screenplay by Betty Comden and Adolph Green and starring June Allyson and Peter Lawford. This chapter includes a detailed look at that film’s production and reception.
