This chapter deals with the Iraqi forces attack on the Saudi port town of Al-Khafji and the Iraqi deception operations along the Saudi border with Kuwait and Iraq in January 1991. These were the only Iraqi Army ground forces initiated operations against Coalition forces in this war, that were praised along the years by the Iraqi propaganda as a symbol of their “success” against the Coalition forces in this war. It describes the Iraqi decision to launch those operations, their planning and preparations, the forces participated, their execution, the Coalition forces respond and their consequences.
