This chapter details the making of Hopkins’s second and last role opposite Bette Davis, Old Acquaintance. Warner Bros. deem Hopkins to be the only actress suited for the role of a successful romance novelist, but Hopkins’s and Davis’s hatred for each other is evident in the day-to-day making of the film, which leads up to the climatic ending wherein Davis demonstrates her frustrations with Hopkins.
